The Tele-Data apprenticeship program is a 3 year program. The minimum on the job hours are 4800 with a minimum of 160 hours of classroom training per year. First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 hour classes are required and are not part of the 160 hour total. A probationary period of 1200 hours has been established for all tele-data apprentices. On completion of the probation period you are then taken into the Union. Monthly dues are paid by you to the IBEW L.U. 197.
Pay advancement is as follows:
1st period
0-800 hrs
50% IT wage
2nd period
801-1600 hrs + 1st year of school
55%
3rd period
1601-2400 hrs
60%
4th period
2401-3200 hrs + 2nd year of school
65%
5th period
3201-4000 hrs
75%
6th period
4001-4800 hrs + 3rd year of school
80%
Upon completion of 4800 hours of on the job training and 6 periods of classroom training you will become an Installer Technician.
